Keith and I got our first Siamese cat shortly after we were married in 1987. We were both in the Air Force and stationed in Montgomery, AL at the time. Titus (our kitty) was 2 years old when we moved to Okinawa. Sadly he passed away during the last year of our assignment there. Erick our oldest son was born while we were in Okinawa. We were all upset about losing Titus and we didn't pursue getting another cat until we arrived back in The States.
Our next assignment was in Oklahoma. I was pregnant with our youngest son, Tyler when we got our new baby cat. We named her Kaycee. Everything was fine until Tyler was born...Kaycee kept biting him. I freaked out a little bit and we had to find Kaycee a new home. We missed her a lot and looking back, we probably could have managed the problem better but I just couldn't get over her biting my baby. It was a long time and we had moved again before we got another cat.
We moved to Biloxi, MS in 1998. It was Tyler who left us hundreds of notes asking for a cat for his 9th birthday (2002). He left notes in the refrigerator, in our bed, in the cars, just about everywhere. He didn't give us much time but we managed to find Siamese kitties for sale in New Orleans. I drove there the morning of his birthday and got Cajun. She wasn't in the best atmosphere and I wanted to take them all out of there. I managed to leave with only one. Keith and I talked for several days about going back to get another one but we never did. We've wanted to breed Siamese ever since we got Cajun. Now that we're both retired and very happy to be settled down in Clarksville, TN...we're very ready to start breeding. Erick is 17 now and will be starting college this fall. Tyler is 14. We're all very excited about getting our breeding program started. We're very thankful to Melissa at Pharoah's Gems Cattery for mentoring us and helping us to get started.
